Now that Christmas is over, there is one thing I have missed. I can not remember the last white Christmas. Oh sure it has snowed alittle a few weeks back, and it was beautiful then. I really miss a white Christmas. I don’t miss driving to work and home in it, just playing around in it;building a snowman, snowball fights, etc. It is so beautiful at night to look at when it is late and quiet, really it is God’s beauty shining through. So in memory of a white Christmas, I have added a little “snow” falling on my blog. So just dim the lights and sing a little Christmas carol and remember.

How can it come so slow yet leave so quickly?!! It is always seems that way.  The excitement of getting ready, buying gifts, going to parties, church services, are the great lead up to the big day. All of a sudden it is here in a flurry of paper wrappers flying in the air, kids on a sugar high, and parents sipping coffee groggily looking on.  This Christmas was like many others with families getting together and enjoying each other. My house was full of my kids, their kids and plenty of laughter and love. I can just sit back and watch, I enjoy it so much. Thanks go to my great kids for the picture of  them together. My how they have changed since I had the last one taken.  It is a treasure to keep.

this year was  a prayer come true also: I  had the pleasure of meeting hubby’s newest addition to the family; Ms. Quinlyn Long from China. She is a precious 4yr. old beautiful little girl. Hubby’s daughter adopted her and she has made great strides adjusting to the American way of life. She sang Jingle Bells and Santa Clause is coming to town for us. We gave her a pocketbook filled with bracelets and a BIG 5kt. bling ring. The ring is as big as her hands!LOL  She went out the door with the pocketbook on her arm and the ring shining on her finger.

Now that Christmas is over it is time for me to be sick. And sure enough I woke up Thursday at 4am sick as a dog. Well that takes care of 2 days of work for me. I can’t even talk for being full and stopped up! Oh well the medicine cabinet  is well stocked and I am medicated up. I guess this is my down time after all the running around and working like a dog at work.  so I will curl up with my cup of Earl Grey tea, the afgan, and a good book or crossword puzzle and heal up.  Merry  Christmas and may all your prayers come to life this new year.  Amen

These are the things I enjoy most about Christmas-the decorations. I decided to put up the smaller Christmas tree this year. I have been moving around furniture for months now and I just didn’t have the heart to move things around again. I must admit that even though this was hubby’s ole tree (before marriage) it turned out quite cute. He has ornaments that his great Aunt made back in 1940ish and they have keep very good. It gives the tree a Victorian look. She also made the three wise men. I think they are just beautiful! The velvet and the trim is gorgeous. The jewels are old broaches that she had years ago. I just love them. My contribution is my Byers choice carolers. Now if I just can find a beagle to sing with them I would be tickled pink! LOL

Last by not least is my nativity set. I have collected each piece as I visited Pa and other religious shops. It is very special to me. Now all I have to do is bake, bake, bake! After all the kids love cookies, don’t they??!!!

Aahh a learning I will go, aahh learning I will go!! Tee-Hee!! This is what happens when I am stuck home with all the cleaning and scrubbing done. Playing around with my blog. I can’t believe how easy it has been made to change the site. I love it.  I am waiting for my den furniture to be delivered, of course they said between 1pm and 6pm today. That means that it will probably be here at 5:50!! LOL!   We gave the old furniture away and for a week I have been sitting in a kitchen chair to watch TV.  But after today I will be able to sit on a nice love-seat and watch TV with hubby. Oh how cozy-love it.  So a waiting I will be!
