LUCY AND CAMPING

June 23, 2008

A beautiful weekend, just what I needed. Cleared my head, did some thinking and just enjoyed the beauty of nature.  I really like this picture, it shows that God is indeed in the minds and hearts of people. Even campers!

A reminder that he is ever near. Our campsite this weekend was on the water. It was glorious, watching the sun go down in the evening and waking up early enough to take a cup of coffee, and sit and watch the sun come up over the water. What a better way to start the day than talking to the Lord here. I sure did that~!

We took our youngest “Lucy” with us to get her used to people, noises, boogie men and the like. She was so funny; but also the best minded dog there. She never barked or made a fool of herself like some of the spoiled ones there. We did a lot of walking around on the leash learning to follow, heel, etc. She did very good until she saw the beach and the water. Now beagles aren’t water dogs per-say, but this one was sooo hot that she just had to do what a girl has to do! 🙂

Ploop down goes the behind, I am so hot mama! Ok lets try the beach. Well I just about died, she waded in and started swimming around me, I just couldn’t stop laughing at her. What a smart dog!

FATHER’S DAY CONT.

June 15, 2008

HUBBY GOT AN AMISH SUMMER HAT OFF OF AN AMISH HOME STORE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. HE HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE EVERYWHERE. WHEN WE GO TO THE AMISH AUCTIONS ALL THE MEN HAVE ONE, THEY ARE COOL WHEN WORKING IN THE FIELDS AND JUST A GREAT SUMMER HAT. AN MENNONITE FRIEND TOLD US OF A STORE THAT WASN’T ADVERTISED AND WAS BASICALLY JUST FOR THE AMISH FAMILIES. SHE SAID THAT THE STORE WAS PLAIN AND YOU COULD MISS IT BY DRIVING BY. THAT’S WHAT THE AMISH WANT. THEY REALLY DON’T WANT TOURIST COMING INTO THE SHOP. SHE ASSURED HUBBY THAT HE COULD GET A HAT THERE. SO OFF WE WENT. THE YOUNG LADY RUNNING THE STORE WAS VERY VERY NICE;AND SOLD HUBBY A HAT.  HE LOVES IT!  MY DAD SAW IT AND WE COULD TELL HE REALLY LIKED IT TOO.  SO FOR FATHER’S DAY HUBBY WENT BACK TO THE STORE, (I STAYED IN THE CAR BECAUSE I REALLY FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WITH MY SHORTS AND TOP ON TO GO IN THE STORE!) AND BOUGHT ONE FOR DAD.

IT WAS JUST WHAT HE WANTED:)

LOOKS GOOD ON HIM DOESN’T IT? I ALSO GAVE HIM ANOTHER BAND FOR HIS HAT, THAT’S WHEN IT GOT FUNNY!

YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS MAN! 🙂   🙂

MY HERO

June 15, 2008

As I ponder the love that I saw in his eyes,
A Godly love, given without compromise….
I recall many times that he stood by my side,
And prodded me on with great vigor and pride.
His voice ever confident, firm and yet fair,
Always speaking with patience, tenderness and care.
The power and might of his hands was so sure,
I knew there was nothing we couldn’t endure.
It’s true, a few others provided insight,
Yet, he laid the foundation that kept me upright.
He’s the grandest of men to have lived on this earth,
Although he’s not royal by stature or birth.
He’s a man of great dignity, honor and strength.
His merits are noble, and of admirable length.
He’s far greater than all other men that I know,
He’s my Dad, he’s my mentor, my friend and hero.

CAMPING 101

June 9, 2008

THIS HAS BEEN A FULL WEEK AND WEEK-END. WE LEFT SAT. MORN. FOR VIRGINA. A FRIEND OF OURS TOLD US ABOUT A CAMPGROUND THAT THEY LOVE, SO WE DECIDED TO CHECK IT OUT. ON OUR ARRIVAL AT THE CHECK-IN OFFICE ; THE GIRL IN THERE HAD OUR RESERVATIONS WAITING. BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL REVIVAL MEETING THAT WAS BEING HELD OVER THE WEEKEND, THE PEOPLE IN OUR ORIGINAL SITE WANTED TO EXTEND THEIR STAY, SO THAT MEANT THAT WE HAD TO BE MOVED TO ANOTHER SITE. IT WAS A GOOD MOVE, IT WAS MORE SHADY AND CLOSER TO THE POOL. WHAT MAKES THIS CAMPGROUND WONDERFUL IS THE PERSONAL ATTENTION THAT YOU GET AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE. WE WERE LITERALLY ESCORTED TO OUR SITE, AND 2 MEN GUIDED US INTO THE BACK IN SITE. BOY WHAT A SERVICE, IT MADE IT SOOO EASY! WE WERE MAJORLY IMPRESSED!

THE CAMPGROUND IS PERFECT. THERE IS ALOT OF EXTRA THINGS GOING ON ALL THROUGH THE WEEKENDS. AND IF THAT ISN’T ENOUGH THERE IS THIS:

OR MAYBE THIS WOULD BE YOUR THING:

THE ONLY DOWNFALL WAS THE BITING BUGS THAT DROVE US HOME THIS MORNING. SPRAYING WASN’T DONE THIS MORNING, AND AFTER ALL IT SEEMS AS THOUGH EVERYBODY HAS GONE HOME ANYWAY, SO SHOULD WE. BUT WE WILL BE BACK IN 2 WEEKS FOR THE CAMPER RALLY, IN A DIFFERENT SITE.
