SECURITY BLANKET

April 22, 2009

When my children were growing up each one had a security something. One was a “passie” (pacifier), others security blankets. They carried those things until they were rags! The only way to wash them was waiting till they were fast asleep, then steal it and wash and dry quickly before they woke up and missed it, for if it was gone, my oh my–bad news! I don’t remember when they gave up the blankets, maybe the first day of school, the “passie” accidental “fell out the car window” oh-oh!

I thought that all of that was behind me, until “Mr. Jack as in Jack Russell puppy. He has several blankets for his bed, for the car, for the crate. But there are 2 of them that he is attached to, the funny thing is that they are baby receiving blanket! Ha! Ha! When I decide that they are cruddy and need washing I confiscate them and wash away, not even thinking that he knows, but HE KNOWS, HE KNOWS! When the dryer opens he is the first one in. I captured him in the act tonight, he is so funny!

Trials

April 19, 2009

We took Jack to the agility trials today to get him used to people and other dogs. Boy were there dogs, all kinds of dogs, and all kinds of sizes! He literally was a nervous wreak! He couldn’t decide which way to look or where to go. It was hard to hold him, but the training he got today was very valuable for him. At 6 months he needs to learn to sit, stay, lay down, even in a noisy place. By the afternoon he was so tired that anything I wanted him to do was alright with him!   The trial was fantastic, the dogs that have been doing this for a while were beautiful. The best ones were the herding dogs, they stole the trial. Beautiful jumping, and footwork.  Well Jack, looks like you have some growing up to do to follow in their footsteps. But thats ok, we have time, we need plenty of it! 🙂

Now he can rest for a few days before training begins again, we are going away for a few to celebrate our anniversary.   8 years ya!hogfm5

HAPPY EASTER, I’M SURE BY NOW THE KIDS HAVE CHOCOLATE COVERED SMILES!!!  IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR EASTER.  WE WENT TO CHURCH AND HAD A BEAUTIFUL SERVICE WITH COMMUNION, HOW THAT TOUCHES YOUR SOUL.  THE MAIN PROGRAM WAS THE “JESUS PAINTER”. THIS WAS A GUY THAT PAINTED A PORTRAIT OF CHRIST WHILE PRAISE MUSIC IS IN THE BACKGROUND. THE STAGE WAS LIT BY A SPOTLIGHT  SHOWING HIS PAINTING. IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! IT WAS SO TOUCHING THAT I FELT TEARS IN MY EYES.  I KEPT THINKING TO MYSELF I WISH MY CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN WERE HERE TO SEE THIS.  HERE IS THE LINK TO THE CHURCH WEBSITE: WWW.BAYSHORECC.ORG  CLICK ON EASTER SUNDAY JESUS PAINTER. I DON’T KNOW HOW LONG THIS WILL BE ON THE SITE, BUT ON TANGLE THERE IS ALMOST THE SAME TYPE OF PAINTER BUT DOING IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY. IT IS JUST SURREAL. WEEKEND

April 11, 2009

What a raining day! Easter weekend shouldn’t be like this. I hope tomorrow is sunny and nice. I have been experimenting with different dishes to make today. I made a Chinese salad that really is very colorful with all the veggies in it. Put it in a cut glass bowl and it really shines. Tastes great too!I also tried sweet onion tarts. Semi-homemade had them on her show and they looked devilish. They are great smelling coming out of the oven, hubby tasted and said they were keepers. Great that’s two for dinner tomorrow.

I came across this and since I love chocolate and the Lord it seems appropriate today:)he-saves

PALM SUNDAY

jesus

Can you imagine this scene? I’ve often thought about this time in Jesus’ life, what he was thinking and what he was going through. Mostly I would have wanted to be there to see it. How powerful the excitement was, the electricity in the crowd must have been awesome. To be there and experience the time could not be compared to anything that has happened in my life! I would have wanted to meet him and feel his compassionate eye on me and his strong arms around me. That would be the contentment of a new born baby in his mother’s arm. I am so thankful that Jesus is still around to make me feel all of this even now. Thank you Lord.
